Dabaiba is discussing with Norland holding the elections in the nearest time frame.

Tripoli, June 21, 2023 (LANA) - The head of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid al-Dabaiba, discussed with the US Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, today, Wednesday, in Tripoli, the file of holding elections in the nearest time frame.

During the meeting, Al-Dabaiba stressed the government's keenness to make the upcoming elections a success amid a general atmosphere of security stability, and in accordance with fair electoral laws, according to the Prime Minister's Media Office.

For his part, Norland affirmed his country's support for the efforts made to hold national elections, pointing to the importance of moving towards holding elections as soon as possible.

The two sides also discussed the file of government spending, according to its indicators during the first half of this year, according to the media office.

  Dabaiba noted the continued fair distribution of spending to all citizens, stressing that more than 80 percent of spending is directed directly and equally to all citizens from different regions of the country.
