Tripoli, June 15, 2023 (LANA) - The representative of the Presidential Council, "Musa al-Koni", met today, Thursday, in the council's office in Tripoli, a delegation of southern women.

    The Presidential Council stated that the members of the delegation stressed the need to support women in the south in order for them to assume their social status within their homeland, and made it clear that they have the ability to assume leadership positions to represent Libya at home and abroad.

      During the meeting, they lauded the national reconciliation project, which is being led by the Presidential Council, as having reached advanced stages, and they demanded that women have a role in it to contribute to its success.

      In turn, the deputy praised the active role of southern women in many fields, stressing his confidence in the ability of southern women to make a shift that contributes to its reconstruction and development by unifying their efforts, for their ability to lead in all fields, and he said that their enduring the hardships of traveling to claim their rights clearly confirms their ability to provide the best, and that they are We need to push them forward to achieve their ambitions.

      Al-Koni suggested that they coordinate to hold a comprehensive forum for the women and youth of the south to review their strategies aimed at supporting the south and come up with recommendations that serve women and enable them to prove their ability to lead in all fields.

      In her turn, the Minister of State for Women's Affairs, "Houriya Al-Turman" praised women in the south for their desire to raise their competence in many fields, stressing that the ministry will continue to support women in the regions of Libya so that they can achieve their aspirations to serve their country.

    The meeting was attended by the Director of the Office of the Presidential Council in the southern region, "Ben Issa Al-Siddiq", a member of the Supreme Council of the State, "Fatima Talweeh", and the Minister of State for Women's Affairs in the Government of National Unity, "Houriya Al-Turman".
