Headed by Al-Dabaiba: The High Council for Energy Affairs reviews the National Oil Corporation's plan to increase production.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, June 13, 2023 (LANA) - The fourth meeting of the High Council for Energy Affairs was held on Tuesday afternoon, headed by the President of the Government of National Unity, Chairman of the Council, "Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba," to discuss the National Oil Corporation's plan to increase oil and gas production.
The meeting - which was held in the corporation's meeting room in the presence of all members of the board and with the participation of the Committee to follow up the Implementation of the Corporation's Extraordinary Budget - reviewed the ongoing projects in subsidiaries and international partnerships with international houses of expertise in gas exploration, alternative energy and the fight against carbon emissions.
Al-Dabaiba praised the efforts of workers in the oil sector to revive a number of suspended projects implemented through local competencies, the most important of which is the maintenance of the Mellitah complex, and the operation of the Ras Lanuf complex, which has been suspended for years.
The meeting agreed on the need to unite efforts with all state institutions in the oil and gas sector, in order to increase oil and gas production, and to develop cooperation and partnership with international companies in this field to transfer expertise and qualify local cadres, and the need to increase disclosure and transparency of all operational and catering expenses.
It was also stressed the need to activate the work of the International Audit Office contracted by the State Audit Bureau to audit expenditures at the National Oil Corporation during the past years.
