Abu Jinnah reviews with representatives of the World Bank the main challenges of health financing in Libya.

Tripoli, April 17, 2023 (LANA) - The Acting Minister of Health, "Ramadan Abu Jinnah," discussed with the official in charge of the health sector at the World Bank, "Jean Pablo" and a number of consultants, the main challenges of health financing in Libya, as well as best practices in the field of strategic procurement.

The meeting, which was held at the bank's headquarters in Washington, DC, reviewed the mechanisms for developing the health sector in Libya, the health financing action plan, as well as the development of human resources and the enhancement of food security in Libya.

The two sides also discussed supporting the implementation of the comprehensive health insurance project in various municipalities, as well as cooperation in primary care programs and family health development.

Abu Jinnah appreciated the World Bank's cooperation with the Libyan Ministry of Health in a package of development projects in the medical field, with the aim of supporting and improving health care programs provided to citizens.

For his part, the World Bank health official affirmed the bank's support for Libya, praising the role played by the Ministry of Health to find permanent solutions to improve the health sector in the country.
