New York, February 24, 2023 (LANA) - Adviser to the US State Department, "Derek Chollet," said that the time has come to unite behind the UN envoy, "Abdullah Batili" to facilitate the Libyan people's demand for elections.

In a tweet he posted on his Twitter account, following the meeting of the International Contact Group on Libya yesterday, Thursday, Cholet called for the need to unite all international efforts to hold the Libyan elections.

Today, the United States hosted the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Libya, Abdallah Bathili, and high-ranking officials from Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Qatar, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Britain to discuss the Libyan people's demand for presidential and parliamentary elections.
