Central Bank and US Agency discuss training programme.

Tripoli, February 23, 2023 (Lana) – The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabeer, discussed, Thursday in Tripoli, with the representative of the United States Agency for International Development in Libya, John Cardenas, the stages and implementation steps of the agreement signed between the two parties in the areas of training, in the presence of his assistants and the Director of the Control Department, on Banking and Cash, Governor's Adviser for International Relations. 

The discussions touched on the meetings of the Central Bank with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, the role of civil society organizations, the dealings of the Central Bank, and the controls and procedures regulating their work.

During the meeting, Al-Kabeer praised the training programme being implemented by the US Agency for International Development to raise the capacity and efficiency of the Central Bank's employees.

For his part, Cardenas praised the good relations with the Central Bank of Libya and the support of the US Agency for the sovereign institutions in Libya, efforts to unify the Central Bank, and training and capacity-building programmes for the employees of the Central Bank, stressing the desire of the American side to provide assistance and technical advice to the Central Bank of Libya.
