UN Mission: Libya entered a swirl of transitional stages, exacerbating the difficulties of people's daily lives, and the patience of citizens has run out.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, February 18, 2023 (LANA) - The United Nations Mission to Libya confirmed that the country's entry into a swirl of transitional stages exacerbated the difficulties of people's daily lives at all levels.
The UNSMIL, said in a statement published late last night on its official page on the social network - Facebook - (The past twelve years witnessed a crisis that did not exclude any Libyan, but it also confirmed the people's aspiration for democracy, peace and justice).
It added that these hopes still exist, but the country's entry into a spiral of transitional stages has exacerbated the difficulties of people's daily lives at all levels, as the economy is unstable, basic services such as water and electricity are irregular, and health care suffers from an acute shortage of resources. Also, judicial procedures are almost stalled, human rights are not guaranteed amid security concerns, and the patience of citizens has run out.
The UN mission concluded its statement by saying (it is still possible to respond to the aspirations of the people and achieve a sustainable peace. Libya's leaders must put the country's interests above their own, put an end to the current political stalemate, and enable Libyans to choose their leaders, during the year 2023, through inclusive elections).
