  Tripoli, January 28, 2023 (LANA) - The head of the National Unity Government, "Abdul Hamid al-Dbaiba," affirmed his appreciation for the efforts made by Italy at the level of diplomacy within the European Union and neighboring countries in support of Libya's stability, ending the transitional stages, and reaching elections.

  He said in the joint press conference with the Italian Prime Minister "Georgia Meloni" that during the talks session in Tripoli today, a number of new measures related to illegal immigration and cooperation in the field of energy were discussed.

  For her part, the Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni said, "Libya can count on Italy with regard to political stability, and it will play its role and support the process of going to elections in a short time."

  She added, "We talked about starting work at Tripoli International Airport as soon as possible, and we will work to establish an appropriate security system and return direct flights between the two countries."
