British Ambassador: The reconciliation conference will contribute to expediting holding elections according to a constitutional basis

Tripoli, January 11, 2023 (LANA) - The British Ambassador to Libya, "Caroline Hurndall," said that the launch of the preparatory forum for the National Reconciliation Conference will contribute to expediting the holding of elections according to a consensual constitutional rule, with the results of which all parties are satisfied.

During her meeting with the President of the Presidential Council, Muhammad Al-Manfi, today, Wednesday, in Tripoli, the British ambassador affirmed her country's support for the efforts and initiatives of the Presidential Council to get out of the political deadlock.

On Sunday, the Libyan Presidential Council launched the preparatory forum for the National Reconciliation Conference, in the capital, Tripoli, with the participation of representatives with the participation of representatives of various Libyan parties, including party heads, tribal sheikhs, and representatives of civil society organizations.

The opening session of the forum was attended by the head of the African Union mission, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Congo-Brazzaville, Jean-Claude Gakosso, and a number of ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Libya.
