The Electoral Commission announces the results of the election of the General Assembly of the Libyan Women's Union.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, December 27, 2022 (LANA) - The High Elections Commission announced today, Tuesday, the victory of Mrs. Lutfia Abu Khazam, as president of the General Assembly of the Libyan Women's Union.
The elections of the General Assembly of the Libyan Women's Union, which was supervised by the Commission, resulted in the victory of Mrs. "Laila Al-Senussi" and "Nuriya Abu Zeid" as a member of the Board of Directors of the Union, and Mrs. "Latifa Al-Tabib" as rapporteur.
The union's first deputy, Nana Al-Kawafi, explained that the electoral cycle in the union is held every 3 years.
She added, "We were keen to ensure that these elections take place through free, direct voting, and we did not adopt the quota system, as the female voters gathered and they represented 12 qualitative unions distributed over the entire Libyan soil, and the unions were represented in these elections by 5 representatives."
The election process, direct voting, and the counting and counting process took place, in the presence of the member of the Commission Council, "Rabab Halab", the president of the federation, "Fathiye Al-Bakhbkhi", the first deputy of the federation, "Nana Youssef", representatives of the sub-unions, and representatives of civil society organizations concerned with women.
