Tripoli, December 17, 2022 (LANA) - The UN envoy to Libya, "Abdullah Batili," called on candidates for the presidential elections from all over Libya to discuss among themselves and agree on a unified proposal to break the prevailing stalemate within a specific time limit.
This came during Batili's meeting today, Saturday, with a group of political figures from different parts of Libya, who had previously submitted their candidacy papers for the presidential elections that were scheduled a year ago.
In a series of tweets posted on the mission's website, Batili confirmed that he encouraged political figures to take into account the legal, constitutional and security aspects necessary to provide equal competitive opportunities and successful elections.
The UN envoy also stressed that the Libyans are determined to make the year 2023 the beginning of a new dawn for them and their country.
