The Arab League: The Arab positions did not reach a complete understanding on the situation in Libya.

Tripoli, December 17, 2022 (LANA) - The Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Hossam Zaki, said that the election crisis in Libya lies in the absence of a clear legal constitutional basis on which the electoral process is based, which has not been achieved so far.

Zaki stressed in press statements today that the elections are the only way for the Libyan people to express their opinion on who they choose or represent.

On the other hand, the Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States revealed that the Arab positions did not reach a complete understanding about the situation in Libya, which allows the Secretary-General to obtain a full Arab mandate to lead efforts to resolve the crisis.

He added that some countries have interests in Libya and the League's hand is tied, and it is not possible to look at the situation in Libya at any moment without understanding the past.
