Discussions of mechanisms to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Libya and Tunisia.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, December 24, 2022 (LANA) - The Minister of Communications, "Mohamed Al-Shahoubi," discussed with the Ambassador of the State of Tunisia accredited to Libya, mechanisms to strengthen the bonds of friendship, cooperation, and integration between the two brotherly peoples.
During this meeting, which was held yesterday at the Ministry's office in the capital, Tripoli, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry's Office and Maritime Transport Affairs, Wissam Al-Idrisi, they reviewed prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries and ways of supporting and developing it in all fields.
Al-Shahoubi expressed in a speech on the occasion the depth of brotherly relations, stressing his keenness to strengthen these relations to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries.
Al-Shahoubi praised the results of the ministerial delegation's visit to the Ras Ajdir port and the opening of the corridors and administrative buildings at the crossing, which are represented by four gates and a building for the Land Ports Operations Center, the customs procedures building for travelers, the customs procedures building for trucks, a club building and the residence of customs employees.
The problems facing Libyan citizens in entering Tunisian territory, represented by the similarity of names, were also reviewed. The Tunisian ambassador confirmed that nearly 80% of the cases of similar names had been removed from the Tunisian system.
The participants in the meeting discussed the mechanisms for dealing with the debt accumulated by the Libyan state, where it was agreed to form a committee working on settling those debts.
