EU calls for addressing impunity and guaranteeing the rights of citizens and migrants in Libya.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 11 December, 2022 (Lana) - The European Union Delegation to Libya stressed the need to address the state of impunity, prevent future violations and guarantee the right of citizens and migrants, stressing that this matter is a decisive step on the way to building peace.
In a joint statement with the diplomatic representatives of the European Union member states on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, the Delegation reaffirmed that the Union is fully committed to supporting Libya in achieving stability and consolidating peace, considering the transition from conflict to national reconciliation as something that Libyans must continue to pursue.
In its statement, the mission expressed its readiness to support these efforts by taking concrete measures to advance criminal justice and restore confidence in state institutions.
