EU calls for addressing impunity and guaranteeing the rights of citizens and migrants in Libya.

Tripoli 11 December 2022 (Lana) Delegation of the European Union to Libya stressed the need to address the state of impunity, prevent future violations, and guarantee the rights of citizens and migrants, stressing that this matter is a crucial step towards building peace.

The delegation confirmed in a joint statement with the diplomatic representatives of the EU member states on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, the delegation confirmed that the EU is fully committed to support Libya in achieving stability and peace considering that transition from conflict to national reconciliation as something that Libyans must continue to pursue.

The Delegation expressed its readiness to support these efforts by taking concrete measures, in order to advance criminal justice and restore confidence in state institutions.
