Pulbished on:Tunis, 10 December 2022 (Lana) The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army and members of the Joint Military Committee (5+5) participated Thursday in the meeting of the Security Working Group on Libya.
The plenary meeting was chaired by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, in cooperation with France, and in the presence of representatives of the United States, Britain, Turkey, Italy, the African Union, and representatives of a number of member states of the Berlin Process for Libya.
The discussion focused on the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration, the withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign fighters, the establishment of a joint military force to reunify Libyan military institutions, and secure elections.
