Cairo, October 19, 2022 (LANA) - The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, "Ahmed Abul Ghait," expressed his readiness to cooperate with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, "Abdullah Bateli" in efforts to get Libya out of the state of political impasse, by agreeing on a constitutional and legal basis that will be implemented. based on national elections.

This came in a phone call made by "Abul Ghait" yesterday, Tuesday, with "Bateli", during which he congratulated him on assuming his duties in the capital, Tripoli, according to what was stated by the official spokesman for the Secretary-General of the Arab League, "Jamal Rushdie."

The phone call reviewed the latest developments in the situation in Libya. The two parties also agreed to continue communication and consultation between the Arab League and the United Nations to support efforts to restore stability to Libya.

Abul Ghait and Batili stressed the importance of the Libyan actors to uphold the national interest and follow the means of dialogue to reach a settlement of the existing crisis.
