Launch of Arab-African Conference on Food Security with the participation of experts and specialists from Libya and a number of African and European countries.

Tunis, 8 October 2022 (Lana) The Arab-African Conference on “Role of the Public and Private Sectors to Promote Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security”, which being organized by the National Planning Council kicked off in Tunisia on Saturday, with the participation of experts and specialists from Libya, African and Arab countries, the National Planning Council, international organizations and those interested in issues of food security and sustainable agricultural development.

 The opening session of the conference was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity Hussein Al-Qatrani, Chairman of the National Planning Council Mahmoud Al-Futaisi, Director General of the National Council for Economic and Social Development, Abu Bakr Al-Mansouri and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Khawla Al-Triki.

Experts and specialists in food security and agricultural development from Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Chad, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Gambia, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, and France, were expected to present scientific papers and research. During the eighth and ninth days of the conference, Participants are expected to discuss the strategy of food security for the Arab region and in Africa, the status of food and nutrition in the world, and the role of scientific research in promoting it.
