GNU Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Chadian Embassy confirms imminent release of four Libyan youths detained in Chad.

  Tripoli, 13 September 2022 (Lana) GNU Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced that it was following up on the detention of four young Libyans by Chadian authorities, after they lost their way in the desert into Chadian territory since the beginning of their detention.

In a press release published on Tuesday, the Ministry affirmed its keenness to protect and care for Libyan citizens outside the borders, and instructed the Libyan embassy and consulates operating in the Republic of Chad to visit the detainees to check on their safety and health, and to provide them with the necessary consular services.

The ministry explained in its statement that it has communicated with the Chadian side, at the highest levels, for the purpose of releasing the Libyan youth, and that the Embassy of the Republic of Chad accredited in Tripoli has confirmed the imminent release of them, and the Ministry is fully confident that the brothers in the Republic of Chad will spare no effort to do so.
