Tripoli, 4 September 2022 (Lana) President of Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Mnefi received on Sunday the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino, to discuss the latest political and security developments in Libya.

The Italian Ambassador to Libya conveyed to Al Mnefi greetings of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, offering his condolences on behalf of the Italian government to the victims of the recent Tripoli events, expressing his appreciation for the balanced positions of the Presidential Council in support of consensus between the political parties.

The meeting, which was held at the Council office, reviewed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, the security and military conditions in the country in general and especially in the capital Tripoli, and the steps taken to bring together the Libyan parties and restore momentum to the electoral process.
