Paris, August 28, 2022 (LANA) - France has expressed its strong condemnation of the recent armed clashes in the capital, Tripoli, which caused a number of deaths and injuries, especially the damage to the infrastructure.
France, through its embassy in Tripoli, urged all parties in Libya to fully respect the ceasefire agreement signed on October 23, 2020.
It reminded all parties of their obligations with regard to international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians, calling on all Libyan parties to act constructively and engage in dialogue to reduce tensions and preserve Libya's unity and stability.
France expressed its commitment to promoting a viable political solution to the Libyan conflict - calling for transparent and credible presidential and parliamentary elections.
