First open- heart operation conducted in Zliten within the National Program for Localization of Heart Disease Treatment.

   Zliten, 21 August 2022 (Lana) The National Program for Localization of Treatment for Cardiovascular Patients has been launched at Zliten Medical Center as part of the Ministry of Health's plan to localize treatment in various medical specialties.

 Zliten Medical Center witnessed an open heart operation and arterial transplantation, as part of the National Open Heart Program, sponsored by the Ministry of Health. The medical team succeeded in performing an open heart operation and transplantation of arteries for a 65-year-old patient, by performing surgery for thromboembolic blockages of the arteries of the heart, under the supervision of specialist doctor Khaled Al-Taleb, assisted by doctors Mohammed Bashir, Muftah Al-Sharrani and Mohammed Abu Rawi, in addition to the team and the assistant medical staff.

 The plan to localize treatment for heart disease patients, aims to perform 300 open heart surgeries for adults and children in various specialized medical centers in Tripoli, Misrata, Benghazi and Sebha.
