GNU Minister of Employment calls for exempting private sector from paying taxes.

  Tripoli, 20 August 2022 (Lana) GNU Acting Minister of Employment, Rehabilitation and Civil Service Ali Al-Abed renewed his call for exempting the private sector from paying taxes on the contracts of its employees, and to provide facilities to it, in order to absorb young job seekers, a plea that the Ministry of Labor has already made, as a proposal to the competent authorities so that the unemployment rate in Libya can be precisely determined.

 All the percentages published about unemployment in Libya are inaccurate, since young people who do not work in the public sector, they have another job in the private sector, but employers and owners of private companies do not sign contracts for their employees, to evade paying taxes, Al-Abed said in a television interview. "The system of job seekers has registered, about 280,000 young people qualified to work, he added."
