Tripoli, 20 August 2022 (Lana) Member of the House of Representatives Abdul Salam Nassiya criticized the decision to reactivate the Constitutional Court after 6 years of suspension, stressing that this decision will only lead to further aggravate the crisis.

"How similar past is to today, in the past there was a decision by the Constitutional Court on the unconstitutionality of paragraph 11 of the Seventh Constitutional Amendment, which led to the aggravation of the Libyan crisis and the country's entry into a dark tunnel that led to wars and destruction, and today the Constitutional Court issues a decision to reactivate the Constitutional Chamber, after 6 years of suspension under circumstances that are not hidden from anyone," he said, stressing that he is not against the re-activation process but against the reactions in the circumstances of the state of acute polarization, wondering why now?, and whether the reasons for the suspension have ended?, and what does this decision have to do with the reconstitution of the Supreme Court advisers?" "

"Today, the loyal judiciary is facing a great challenge by choosing to follow the path of politicians, social and armed people and aligning with them in rival projects based on personal selfishness and the exclusion of opponents, or maintaining the impartiality and unity of the judiciary, closing the door to political trials, and putting the public interest first," Nassiya said.
