An action plan to develop women’s human capabilities and raise the level of their performance in various fields.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 8 August , 2022 (Lana ) - Office of the Ministry of Justice in the Government of National Unity hosted on Sunday a consultative meeting that included Minister of Justice, Halima Ibrahim Abdel-Rahman, Minister of Social Affairs, Wafaa Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development Mabrouka Toghi, and Minister of State for Women’s Affairs Horeya Termal, with the aim of developing an action plan for women's participation, support and encouragement, to reach wider representation and to ensure that the plan is compatible with national priorities.
The Ministry of Justice explained in a post on its Facebook page that the meeting came in implementation of the recommendations of the recent Cabinet meetings regarding the advancement of the leading role of Libyan women in various fields, and in the context of supporting their rights and their contribution to decision-making.
Among the objectives of these consultations, which took place during the meeting, is to develop women’s human capabilities, raise the level of performance within their organizational divisions in the administrative organs of the Libyan state, and increase the share of women’s representation in leadership positions, according to the issued statement.
The Ministry of Justice added that the action plan also aims to enhance women’s leadership capabilities and enable them to contribute effectively to preparing national female cadres to be highly qualified in various fields, especially those related to human rights, judicial, social, cultural and economic sustainable development, as well as attention to women’s health because of their A public good to society because their health depends on society as a whole.
The ministry indicated that the action plan provides facilities for pioneering women and enables them to enhance the gains achieved for women in Libya and to ensure their development into a legislative and institutional framework that supports them, meets their practical and life needs, is compatible with societal privacy and is consistent with international charters and treaties.
