President of the Presidential Council receives Malta's ambassador to Libya.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 1 August 2022 (Lana) President of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al Mnefi on Monday received Malta's Ambassador to Libya Charles Saliba to discuss the political situation in Libya.
According to the Council’s Communication Office the Ambassador conveyed greetings of the President of Malta to the President of the Council, and wishes for peace, stability and prosperity to the Libyan people.
The Ambassador briefed Al-Mnefi on his recent visit to Benghazi, progress of plans to restore of flights, the granting of visas to citizens of the two countries, and also briefed him on the procedures for the return of Maltese companies in Libya, stressing his country's readiness to support Libya overcome the current crisis.
The President of the Presidential Council praised the depth of bilateral relations between Malta and Libya, and the cultural and geographical interdependence between the two countries, stressing the importance of activating the work of the joint committees, and Malta’s role in supporting stability in Libya.
Al Mnefi reiterated the Presidential Council's keenness on the need to maintain stability, the unity of institutions in Libya and to go to elections as soon as possible in order to achieve the aspirations of the people.
