Libyan-Maltese parliamentary meeting discusses joint action to meet the challenges in the Mediterranean region for benefit of peoples of the region.

Valletta, 23 July 2022 (Lana) Speaker of the Maltese Parliament Angelo Varugia, discussed with member of the House of Representatives, and President of the National Committee for Sustainable Development Rabia Boras a number of issues of common interest and coordinated joint action to meet the challenges in the Mediterranean for the benefit of the peoples of the region.
The meeting, held at the Maltese Parliament in Valletta, addressed the importance of the role of the House of Representatives in promoting democracy and the peaceful transition of power by supporting presidential and legislative elections in accordance with a transparent and fair process.
During the meeting, the Speaker of the Maltese Parliament reiterated his support and readiness of the Parliament of Malta to cooperate with the Libyan Parliament to help resolve Libya’s political crisis, stressing need for continued cooperation to strengthen the role of parliaments in helping their countries towards stability, development and peace.
