Tripoli, 23 July 2022 (Lana) UN Secretary-General's Advisor on Libya Stephanie Williams has called for the "perpetrators" of the violence in Tripoli to be held accountable.
"I am angry at the violence that broke out in Tripoli last night, in which many people, including women and children, were killed at a wedding," Williams said in a tweet.
The indiscriminate use of weapons in a densely populated urban area without protecting civilians is a serious violation of international humanitarian law and a punishable crime," she said in another tweet, stressing the need for fighting to stop, civilians protected and perpetrators to be held accountable.
