Lana correspondent: Because of the lack of a fire engine nearly 300 palm trees devoured by fire on a farm in Zalla.

Zalla, 17 July 2022 (Lana) A fire that broke out in a palm plantation devoured all the trees last night in Zalla municipality.

Sources from the municipal council of Zalla told Lana correspondent the fire consumed all components of the farm, which contains about 300 palm trees and other fruitful trees and affected the homes of some citizens.

 The fire was the second this summer and the causes were not immediately known, the sources said.

 "One of the reasons for these losses in the palm trees is the lack of a fire engine and the process of eliminating the fire is carried out by the efforts of the citizens and their own resources, and the nearest area to Zalla to seek help is the municipality of Marada, about 220 kilometers away," said Mustafa Al-Saghir, a member of the municipal council.
