NCDC declares Libya free of monkey pox.

  Tripoli, 13 July 2022 (Lana) Libya has so far been free of monkey pox, the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) said Tuesday.

The center said a follow up of the epidemiological situation of monkey pox disease, the center's community health laboratory received four suspected monkey pox samples from different parts of the country, and after conducting the necessary tests, the results turned out to be negative. The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed that no cases of monkey pox have been recorded in the country.

 The center noted that with the increase of this disease and its emergence in several countries around the world, all medical and laboratory examinations are available for early monitoring, investigation and dealing with the disease as part of an integrated preventive plan.

 The NCDC warned citizens and residents in the event of a rash around the mouth and genitals, about three days after the fever, and a bulge in the lymph nodes, to go to the nearest health center to carry out the required tests.
