The Benghazi Civil Status Department denies existence of 380,000 cases of fraud.

   Benghazi, 12 July 2022 (Lana) The Benghazi Civil Status Authority has denied reports that the undersecretary of the Interior Ministry of the unity government, Faraj Gaim, has seized 380,000 cases of fraud in Benghazi’s civil registry.

The department said in a statement that a number of suspicious pages and fictitious accounts on the social media publish false information and slander about the existence of fraud in the civil registry aimed at spreading sedition and chaos and inflaming public opinion.

The branch administration warned these pages, and urged all to be honest in reporting news and not to slander, lie and spread false news.

In its statement, the Department confirmed that it would refer what had been published through the fictitious pages to the judiciary to take the necessary legal action.
