Head of GNU Government presides over meeting dedicated to follow up on treatment abroad and problems associated with it.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 6 July 2022 (Lana) The Head of the Government of National Unity , Abdul Hamid_Al Dabaiba, presided over a follow-up meeting that included Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Health Ramadan Abu Janah, the Acting Minister of Finance, the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, the Head of the Military Medicine Service and the Director of the Medical Services Support and Development Service, the Chairman of the Committee for The Review of Treatment Debt Abroad, as well as a number of directors of technical departments, a representative and officials of treatment committees abroad, and a representative of the Medical and Emergency Services, to follow up on the file of treatment abroad and the problems it faces in order to develop An urgent plan to address a number of negative aspects.
During the meeting, Al-Dabaiba stressed that the continuation of the situation as it is has become unacceptable, sending patients without standards according to messages from different entities, and lack of financial coverage for them and leaving them to face extortion of therapeutic sanatoriums abroad, will not continue.
He stressed the need to establish standards and conditions for those sent for treatment, to form central and sub-committees to decide on those receiving treatment abroad, to give priority to oncology patients and to take care of local oncology centers; to supply them with necessary medicines and appropriate quantities.
The meeting agreed that the military medicine, medicine and emergency services would follow up on the conditions of the wounded army and support forces after careful inventory, determine the type and duration of treatment and approve military hospitals in agreement with military attachés to ensure good service for them.
