Al-Koni rejects any new transitional phase that will bring Libya back to ground zero.

Tripoli, 6 June , 2022 (Lana) – Member of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, confirmed that what the Libyan crisis is currently going through is not likely to enter any new transitional stages that would bring it back to the zero point, stressing the importance of continuing the political path sponsored by Germany during the Berlin conferences. (1& 2) to gather the Libyan parties and propose a road map that would allow Libya to come out of its crisis.

Al-Koni said during his meeting, Tuesday, with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Libya, Michael Unmacht that the current stage in Libya does not bear a return to square zero, and living another experience or attempts.

He called on the international community to support Germany's efforts in this direction, and to call for holding another international gathering that brings together all the parties, in which the issue of differences or contradictions is resolved, and the word returns to what would respond to the expectations of the people.

In the interview, Al-Koni reiterated the Presidential Council's commitment to meeting the aspirations of the Libyans, to hold elections in accordance with a constitutional framework, to elect the People's Parliament and the People's President as soon as possible, ending the transitional stages and achieving the expected stability.

In turn, the German ambassador conveyed to Al-Koni his country's support for the Presidential Council to achieve stability in Libya and to achieve the elections that the people aspire to.
