In an attempt to overcome controversial points in the constitutional track, Ageela and Al-Mishri meet in Geneva in the presence of Williams.
Pulbished on:Geneva 28 June 2022 (Lana) Direct meetings between Speaker of the House of Representatives Ageela Saleh and President of the High Council of State Khaled Al-Mishri start today at the UN Palace in Geneva ,to discuss the constitutional framework for the elections in the presence of the UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Libya Stephanie Williams and will continue until tomorrow ,Wednesday.
The UNSMIL said on its SMS page that Stephanie Williams will facilitate these meetings ,adding that the leaders of the two councils agreed to discuss the constitutional framework draft for the elections ,taking into consideration the results of the Joint Committee of the Parliament and HCS that held from June 12 to 20- 2022.
It is noteworthy that the third round of the Joint Constitutional Committee meetings of the Parliament and HCS related to the constitutional track in Cairo ended on June 20 without making any progress about consensus on a constitutional framework for the elections.
