Celebration marking completion of first phase of infrastructure work in Misrata Free Zone.

   Misrata, 25 June 2022 (Lana) The Head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Al Daibiba stressed the need to activate the role of the private sector to encourage the national economy, especially in free zones, to give them the greater role in their operation and investment, and to limit the role of the public sector to issuing regulations that contribute to prosperity of local free zones.

 This came in a speech during the ceremony organized Saturday morning on the occasion of the completion of infrastructure work in Misrata free zone, in the presence of a number of ministers, government officials, the head of the administrative Control Authority, the heads of some institutions and bodies, members of the Municipal Council Misrata, and a number of ambassadors of countries, interested in economic activity.

The Chairman of the Misrata Free Zone praised all efforts which signal readiness to start operating the free zone, after a years-long stumbling. The Prime Minister and participants conduct a field tour of the components of the free zone, and listen to full explanations about the work done and future plans for its development.
