Tunisia 25 June 2022 (Lana) Tunisia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisian Expatriates Othman Al Jrindi said Friday that Tunisia is confident that Libyans will be able to overcome the current situation and reach the necessary consensuses, to ensure the best conditions for successful elections based on his country's belief that the solution in Libya can only be led by Libya so that it can regain its role and place in the region, which serves the security and stability in North Africa and the continent as a whole.

This came during an audience Al Jrindi held for Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie and Congolese abroad in the Republic of Congo, Jean-Claude Gakosso, who was accompanied by a delegation from the African Union led by Hassan Labad, Head of the Office of the President of the African Union Commission, stressing in this context the importance of the role of the United Nations, the African Union and neighboring countries in efforts to bring the views of the brothers in Libya closer and help them to provide the conditions for organizing these elections as soon as possible.

According to the Tunisian Foreign Ministry website, the Congolese Minister, whose country currently chairs the High-Level African Union Committee on Libya, pointed out that his visit to Tunisia follows the mission he performed to the sister state of Libya, and falls within the framework of consultation and coordination with Tunisia, based on its ability to contribute effectively to help the Libyan parties find a compromise that suits them and brings Libya out of its current crisis.
