Italian envoy to Libya briefs Al Mnefi on his meeting in Tunisia with the UN Secretary-General's Adviser on Libya on the developments of the Libyan file.

Tripoli, 9 June 2022 (Lana) President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al Mnefi on Thursday received Italian envoy to Libya Nicolas Orlando and Italian Ambassador to Libya Giuseppe Pacino to discuss political developments in Libya.

  The envoy briefed Al Mnefi on his meeting in Tunisia with UN Secretary-General's advisor on Libya, Stephanie Williams, regarding developments in the Libyan file, the importance of supporting the electoral process and ensuring the success of the security and military tracks.

The President of the Presidential Council confirmed that the Council continues to work with all political parties to reach consensus and spare the country any new conflicts.

  For his part, the Italian envoy praised the role of the Presidential Council in bridging the gap between Libyan political parties, stressing his country's keenness to restore stability to Libya, through the consensus of all Libyan parties to help the country achieve development and construction.
