Tripoli, May 08, 2022 (LANA) - Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephanie Williams, discussed with the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to Libya, Charles Saliba, today in Tripoli, the current situation in Libya.

 "Williams" said in a tweet that she posted on her personal page on the social network (Twitter), that the meeting was an opportunity to inform him about the meeting of the joint committee of the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council of the State, which is planned to be held in Cairo on May 15 to rebuild consensus on a solid constitutional path... and to enable the holding of national elections within a short period of time and with a clear timetable.

She added that during the meeting, "we reaffirmed our support for a political process led and owned by Libyans while maintaining calm on the ground".
