Washington, April 24, 2022 (LANA) - US State Department Adviser Derek Chollet discussed with the Algerian Ambassador to the United States Ahmed Boutash the developments in the situation in Libya.
Chollet said in a tweet on his Twitter account, on Saturday, that in his talks with the Algerian ambassador, he touched on "the crisis in Ukraine, as well as the file of organizing elections in Libya."
Two weeks ago, the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, visited Algeria and Morocco.
In press statements that followed his talks with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Blinken described Algeria as the decisive voice in “international efforts to advance the political process led by the United Nations in Libya and support the holding of elections as soon as possible.”
