The Prime Minister is briefed on the progress of work in the Ministry of Interior and the follow-up of the plan to secure the elections.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, April 23, 2022 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, "Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba," visited the office of the Ministry of Interior today, Saturday, during which he was briefed on the work progress in the ministry and the follow-up to the plan to secure the elections.
The Prime Minister held an extensive meeting attended by the Minister of Interior, Major General "Khaled Mazen" and all components of the ministry, including departments, offices and affiliated agencies, as well as a number of directors of security directorates.
At the outset of the meeting, the Minister of Interior affirmed the prime minister's keenness and follow-up on the ministry's performance by conducting more than one inspection visit and working to provide it with all capabilities, which work to implement the tasks entrusted to it.
For his part, the Prime Minister affirmed in his speech that the government stands by the police force and provides support to it, assuring the policemen that the government will work during the current year to implement Law No. (6) of them in appreciation of their exceptional efforts.
Al-Dabaiba stressed the need to support the elections administration and provide the capabilities for it to play the role expected of it, and to intensify communication with the High Electoral Commission in order to be ready to implement the national occasion in a good way.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of the Interior that the security directorates should have a role in solving the problems that occur in a number of cities, the latest of which was what happened in the city of Al-Zawiya last night, and the need to seize all those who contributed to terrorizing the people of the city and to take disciplinary and legal measures towards such incidents. He called on the ministry to provide a detailed position on this incident, the culprits and the measures taken against them.
