(FIFA) is adopting the Arabic language as an official language within the Federation.

 Zurich, March 31, 2022 (LANA) - The International Football Association Board (FIFA) announced today, Thursday, the adoption of Arabic as its official language, after the members of the federations voted during the “FIFA Congress” held in the Qatari capital, Doha.

   The "FIFA Congress" was held on the sidelines of the 2022 World Cup draw, which will be held on Friday, after a proposal was submitted for adoption by the International Federation on the 18th of last December, which coincides with the International Day of the Arabic Language.

    In its statement last December, the International Federation announced a proposal to adopt the Arabic language within the International Federation at the conclusion of the "Arab Cup" competitions, which were held for the first time under the umbrella of (FIFA).

   In its statement, the International Federation expressed its appreciation for the importance of the Arabic language, which is spoken by more than 450 million people in more than 20 Arabic-speaking countries, in addition to millions of Arabs around the world.

   It is noteworthy that the International Federation adopts four languages: English, French, German, and Spanish, and the Arabic language has now been added to it, coinciding with the establishment of the World Cup in an Arab country for the first time in the history of world football.
