Sanalla: Lack of funding and scarcity of budgets are the main challenges facing the oil sector in the country.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, March 30, 2022 (LANA) - The head of the National Oil Corporation, "Mustafa Sanalla," said that the country's oil sector faces great difficulties and challenges due to lack of funding and scarce budgets.
Sanalla explained - during his meeting today, Wednesday, at the Foundation's headquarters in Tripoli, the president and a number of members of the Tripoli Bar Association and the General Union of Lawyers at the level of Libya - that these challenges made the oil sector in Libya unable to develop, increase production, implement its projects, and pay the wages of its workers.
He stressed that despite all these challenges, the National Oil Corporation is committed and eager to preserve the capabilities and wealth of the Libyan people, according to what was published on the corporation's website.
For its part, the Tripoli Bar Association expressed during the meeting its readiness to provide full and unlimited support and sound legal advice to the institution with regard to the business, procedures and legal agreements related to the work of the oil sector.
Representatives of the Bar Association also commended the role of the institution and its head in maintaining the continuation of oil production as the only source of income for the Libyan state, and its wise management of the sector, preserving its unity and distancing it from any political disputes.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Tripoli Bar Association "Sulaiman Al-Azabi" and the two members of the Bar Association "Ali Marwan" and "Adel Al-Alaqi" and the representative of the Tripoli Bar Association at the General Bar in Libya "Abdullah Al-Jarbi" in addition to the presence of a member of the Legal Department of the National Oil Corporation.
