(Al-Dabaiba) delivers the draft election law to the National Committee for the Implementation of the “Plan for the Return of Trust to the People”

Tripoli, March 30, 2022 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, handed today, Wednesday, a draft election law prepared by the "National Committee for the Implementation of the Plan for the Return of Trust to the People", which was formed by the Prime Minister for the past term.

The committee is chaired by Ashraf Belha, and its members include Ibrahim Qaradah, Abdel Hamid Al Kaza, Abdel Qader Al Mahjoub, Issa Al Tuwaijer, Fayrouz Al Naas, Hussam Pasha Imam, Sami Al Atrash, Abdel Rahman Qadoua, Osama Abu Naji, Maryam Maghar, Abdel Salam Al Doukali, Ahmed Barbash, Faiza Al Basha, Abdel Moneim Al Ghaithy, Nasr Ma’iqel, Al Hadi Habeel Henshir and Mohamed Habeel Hensher.

The Government Information Office said that the National Committee for the Implementation of the Plan for the Return of the Trust to the People is responsible for launching an expanded national dialogue to discuss the draft law and collect observations on it to express the largest possible segment of Libyan society.

The Prime Minister stressed that the goal of forming the committee is to expand the circle of participation in the presence of a number of national political figures, noting that transferring this task to the National Committee is conclusive evidence of the government’s intention to prove credibility in proposing the law and implementing the elections with the necessary transparency.

For their part, the members of the committee affirmed their keenness to succeed in this task, which they described as patriotism, stressing their commitment to achieving the goal of the Libyan people in reaching the elections.
