Al Mnefi discusses with Al Sisi developments of political situation in Libya.

 Cairo, 29 March 2022 (Lana) Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Tuesday welcomed President of Presidential Council Mohamed Al-Mnefi who began a visit to Egypt.

According to the Presidential Council's Communication Office Al Mnefi and Al Sisi discussed developments of the political situation in Libya, bilateral relations between the two countries, and ongoing efforts to restore security and stability to the country.

 Al Mnefi highlighted ‘close fraternal relations’, which bind the two brotherly countries and peoples, referring to Egyptian diplomatic efforts to support stability and peace in Libya.

Al Sisi paid tribute to the Presidential Council's efforts to unite state institutions, establish the rules of national reconciliation, and work with all parties to the political process, to overcome the current crisis. He affirmed Egypt's full support for the political solution to the Libyan crisis, and holding of free and transparent elections in accordance with a consensual constitutional framework, in which all Libyans participate.
