Williams briefs representatives of Libyan parties on her efforts to bring together the HCS and HOR to agree on a constitutional basis.

Tripoli, 29 March 2022(Lana) UN Secretary-General Special Adviser on Libya Stephanie Williams held a virtual discussion on Tuesday with representatives of a number of Libyan political parties. The discussion which she described as a very productive centered on her yesterday contacts with a broad range of Libyans.

Williams said in a tweet that the representatives of parties briefed her on their vision to get out of the political impasse, and to raise the voice of the silent majority and reactivate the political process in Libya.

She praised the representatives for their forward-thinking approach, to find an inclusive solution by Libyans, pointing to the important role of the political parties in the current circumstances.

Williams added that she briefed them on her efforts to bring together the High Council of State (HCS) and the House of Representatives (HoR) ,to agree on a constitutional basis to hold fair and inclusive elections.
