Libya participates in the preparatory meeting of the 8th Tokyo International Conference on Africa Development.

Tripoli, 27 March 2022 (Lana) Libya participated in the Japanese government's preparatory meeting for the 8th Summit of the Tokyo International Conference on Africa’s Development in cooperation with the African Union Commission.

In his participation in the virtual ministerial meeting of Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) to be held in Tunisia in August, the Undersecretary for International Cooperation and Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Omar Kitti expressed his thanks to the Japanese government and the African Union Commission for organizing this meeting, stressing the importance of the success of the African-Japanese partnership for sustainable development at all levels, by providing technical support from the Japanese side, to achieve the goals for the well-being of the African peoples, and establishment of security and stability in its entirety.

 In his speech, he added that Libyan institutions are keen to benefit from the experience and competence of Japanese technical institutions in training and qualifying human resources in Libya and across the African continent, and to create comprehensive strategic partnerships between the African and Japanese sides.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Department of International Cooperation Ahmed Al Deeb, and the Head of the Multilateral Organizations section of the Department of International Cooperation Gomoa Erhuma participated in the virtual meeting, in addition to representatives from the Departments of Asia, Australia and African Affairs.
