America stresses the need for the independence of the Libyan Investment Authority.

Tripoli, March 25, 2022 (LANA) - The Chargé d'Affairs at the US Embassy in Libya, Leslie Ordman, stressed the need to ensure that the Libyan Investment Authority remains independent and technical.

This came during a virtual meeting between "Ordman" and "Ali Mahmoud" from the Libyan Investment Authority, which summarized the institution's efforts to improve transparency and management,

   In turn, Ordman stressed, according to a tweet on the US embassy's account on Twitter, the need for the funds held by the Foundation to remain protected until the asset freeze is lifted in the future and can be operated in order to improve the conditions of all citizens throughout Libya.

It is noteworthy that the Libyan Investment Authority is subject to the measures to freeze assets imposed under Resolutions No. (1970) and (1973) of 2011, as amended by Resolution No. (2009) of 2011.
