Tripoli, March 25, 2022 (LANA) - The Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya "Risdon Zninga" stressed that the focus of the United Nations and Chancellor Stephanie Williams is to hold the elections in the shortest possible time frame based on a reliable constitutional basis and an agreed legal framework through a process and a Libyan-Libyan mechanisms.

This came during his meeting yesterday with a number of members of the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council of State, where they discussed the current political situation and the ongoing efforts to activate the electoral process, according to what the UN mission announced on its Twitter account.

The mission indicated that the attendees expressed their concern over the current political impasse, stressing the need to prepare a constitutional basis for the elections as soon as possible.
