High Council of State selects 12 members to assign 6 of them to Constitutional Bases Committee.

Tripoli, 14 March, 2022 (Lana) - The High Council of State held its formal session, Monday, in order to vote on the 6 members who will represent it in the committee to prepare the constitutional rule in agreement with the House of Representatives, and their number is 12 members, i.e. 6 members of the House of Representatives, and 6 members of the High Council of State.

State Council member Abdul Rahman Al-Shater told Lana that (the council chose 12 members to be elected, 6 of whom are members of the committee for preparing the "constitutional rule", while the other 6 as advisors).

Al-Shater added that the 12 members who were voted and selected are: Ahmed Yaqoub, Amal Al-Sallabi, Shaaban Busta, Shukri Lamin, Zainab Shetty, Kamel Al-Jatlawi, Mohamed Al-Hadi, Musa Faraj, Fawzia Karawan, Fathallah Al-Sariri, Abdul-Qader Ahwaili and Abdul-Karim Hussein) .

Council sources told the Libyan News Agency that the attendance who voted, Monday, to choose the representatives of the Council exceeded 56 members, and that 6 additional members were chosen in addition to the 6 as proposed by the initiative of the adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephanie Williams, because 6 members are not enough, to represent women and other components of the High Council of State.
