Tripoli, March 12, 2022 (LANA) - The head of the National Oil Corporation, "Mustafa Sanalla," announced that Libya is currently focusing on raising gas production rates to respond to the increasing demand for it in the European market.

This came in a speech during his participation in the activities of the "Cera Week" conference, held in Houston, Texas, in the United States of America, according to what was published on the Foundation's website.

Sanalla renewed his call to reduce dependence on gas in generating electricity and on generating electricity from alternative energies. Emphasizing the Corporation's strategy to reduce carbon emissions through optimal exploitation of gas produced with oil.

During his speech, Sanalla touched on some projects to reduce gas flaring, such as the project to extract cooking gas from incendiary gas at the station 186 in the Sharara field, as well as the project to extract cooking gas from incendiary gas in the “Al-Mabrouk” field, considering this a contribution to sustainable development that will have an impact on Local communities adjacent to the areas of operations of the National Oil Corporation.

The head of the National Oil Corporation expressed his support and encouragement for international companies operating in Libya and his keenness to create an investment environment to maintain the presence of existing partners and attract other partners.
